Went to the lake on saturday. Fished for a little bit with my 5 year old daughter. We had one good bite from shore, but she quickly lost interest. Kind of expected that before leaving, at the very least we get to spend time together. When we were leaving I had a good chat with her about cleaning up our camping area when we are done, and that we should clean up around us, to my surpise she wanted to and was excited about doing it. So we filled a big garbage bag up of all sorts of trash. I was really begining to hate people by the end of cleaning. Seen a dude fishing two lines at once, and called the fish and wildlife hotline. I hope they got caught.

Was also out at Swan on Saturday. Had a great day of fishing and at the end of the day when I went to clean my fish it was so disgusting I had to take them home to clean them. There was bags of garbage, diapers and all sorts of other junk on or around the cleaning table and on top of that the cleaning table was covered in dried on guts. Talked to one of the guys there and he said couple guys cleaned about 30 fish and just left it a mess. Hope nobody on this site leaves our few fishing areas in this condition. If I had the room in my truck I would have cleaned it up!!!!! Other than that the fishing was great!!!

If you took out a couple of the bag fulls of money you would probably have more room!

Does anybody know who looks after the campground?

Parks was looking after the site in 2007 and 2008. However anglers complained as they wanted it unregulated. Proposal was made for a more formal site designation but opposition by a few shut down that initiative which would have seen responsible long term management. Danger now is that if abuse continues site could be closed. Government just walked away from 15 similiar sites today.

Site originally was supposed to be day use only when forestry looked after. Today Canfor provides a grant that is used by ACA to maintain aeration. Canfor wants out unless formal regulation. Forestry is looking at what can do - but as they are out of recreation now so ot a good fit. Heard a rumor than MD of Greenview looking at options as well. They have never been involved in such a recreation sites unlike other MD/Counties and were involved and supported Parks looking after. Problem today is Parks only wants to be land manager not a facility provider. Bottom line Abuse it and Loose it

I was out on sunday..there was a campsite full of guys who have been there fishing for a good two weeks...they showed up when I was just out for a boo to see where the ice was. There not obliged to follow regs so I guess the damage will be done if they dont leave. I was'nt really that impressed with the fishing..however im not great at fishing to begin with lol... But I cant help but wonder how many fish could really be in there and if 5 lines fishing all day could have something to do with it? I am kinda shocked it isnt looked after... Debolt and Ridgevalley could charge a day rate and that lake would be back in business...like 5 bucks or whatever.
Anyways snipe this weekend..ill let you all know

I was out there a few weeks ago when the ice was half off and I tried to look for a garbage around the boat launch. I couldnt find one and peoples bags of garbage were just piling up. We just took ours with us which wasnt a huge issue.
The fishing however was great. Caught probably 25-30 between the two of us and lost that many more on hook up. Im going again when the water warms up a little to go after the big ugly ones. The trick is to get there around 6am before some of the shore fisherman start chucking boat anchors.
