Any updates on the ice situation?  Walked out on the dugout today there was 2.5 inches of solid clear ice.  I'm hoping this nice weather goes away and it gets back to feezing before the snow hits.

Yes, it's definatly cold out there! I stopped by Sturgeon and Swan (AB).I chipped away at the ice to find 3" at Williamson park at Sturgeon. I was in a boat out on the lake about three weeks ago and the water was still pretty green. When chipping away at it today the ice was green, I've never seen anything like it before. Anyway, I went out to Swan and tried the ice where you access the lake by vehicle. I was about 50' from the shore and the ice measured 5" exactly. I havn't been to Snipe yet. has anyone else? Looks like I'm going to start the year at Swan!

Landed a small rainbow at East Dollar today and saw 4 more swimming around (fished for an hour or so).  4-5 inches of ice but I didnt venture to far from shore (6.5 feet of water).  Should be good to go when you get home Joe, give me a shout.

Has anyone been to Swan lake in B.C. yet?  Im guessing most lakes can handle the weight of a person. Or, am I too optimistic?

Anybody been to snipe lately?  Can you drive out or should a guy take a sled?  How was the fishing?

I suggest a sled. There is about 8`` of flood ice on top. It will support your truck but easy to get stuck unless you stay on the packed trail. Fishing was slow on the 30th seen a few only caught 3 pike one decent one. Whites just weren`t interested at all.

Has anyone been out to Snipe since the recent dump of snow?  I usually fish the east side of the lake just off the lease.  Has that area been plowed recently?  Can one drive on the lake?  or is the snow too deep?  How thick is the ice out there now?  thx in advance!!

Last weekend I was out and I pulled a stuck truck back up the approach. It wasn't plowed then (2 feet of fresh snow and there was lots of flood water). Ice thickness is not an issue though, but breaking through the first layer of false ice is. Not sure if it's been plowed since the big snow.
