I was heading out to Sturgeon Lake the other day and I saw three people fishing Goose Creek at the bridge. I thought the creeks were closed??? Anyways, fishing was okay, caught a couple pike at the Narrows on spoons.

Your right, the tributaries including Goose Creek are closed.....Those people should not be fishing there. Although, there is a native reserve there and it's possible that there are exemptions for them, I' not sure. I spoke with the Fish and Wildlife officers in Valleyview regarding where the legal line is drawn from the tributary to the lake. He said you should look at it as if you draw a line from one shore to the other, you may cast a lure into the lake side of the line but not the creek side. The way I see it is the lake side of the creek entrance is going to be virtually the same luck as the creek side anyway. Make sure you don't cast into the creek!
